HDB Executive Condominium Income Ceiling Announcement
In his National Day Rally speech, Prime Minister Lee Hsien announced that the income ceiling for HDB Executive Condominiums (EC) will be raised to $12000. The news will bring relief to many Singaporean couples and families who wanted to take advantage of the many executive condominiums that were launched recently but were hampered because their household income exceeded the old $10000 limit.
In his speech, PM Lee acknowledged that many Singaporeans were getting married later and with more dual income families, the current income ceiling needed to be raised. Concurrently, the income ceiling for HDB flats including Build To Order (BTO) will also be raised to $10000 from the present $8000. This move will allow more Singaporeans to own HDB flats said PM Lee.
Singaporean couple Ivan and Sammi were overjoyed on hearing the good news. “This is the news we’re been waiting for.” The couple had been looking to buy the Arc@Tampines Executive Condominium but were hampered by their income which exceeded $10000. They were about to lodge an appeal with HDB when the news came out.

HDB Income Ceiling Notes:
1. The increased income ceiling is takes effect immediately but is only applicable to projects which are launched for public sale from 15 Aug 2011, such as Arc @ Tampines.
2. The CPF housing grant for households which earn more than $10,000 will be tiered as shown below.
